Info Edge, which owns and operates internet businesses, demonstrated steady business growth in the second quarter ending September 30, 2026. Consolidated operating revenue increased by 12.2% year-over-year (YoY) to reach INR 903.9 crore, while profit after tax grew by 87% YoY to INR 649.8 crore.
This growth was driven by the recruitment segment, faster expansion of the real estate portal 99acres, and sustained momentum in the partner search business. However, the education segment faced pressure.
Profitability improved because expenses grew slower than revenue, although an increase in other income also contributed to the rise in reported profit.
The company is also expecting a change in management. Hitesh Oberoi is set to leave his roles as Managing Director and CEO completely on December 2 of this year, after nearly 27 years with the company. Founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani is slated to expand his executive role starting December 3, subject to shareholder approval.
Info Edge manages brands such as Naukri (online recruitment), 99acres (real estate listings), Jeevansathi, and Aisle (partner search), as well as Shiksha (educational services). The company also invests in other enterprises, so its financial results reflect both operational efficiency and changes in investment valuations.
Consolidated total income, including other income, increased by 37.7% YoY to INR 1,332.3 crore. Other income grew by 164.8% to INR 428.4 crore from INR 161.8 crore, while total expenses rose by 4.5% to INR 588.6 crore from INR 563.5 crore. Profit before tax, excluding exceptional items, increased by 85.2% to INR 747.7 crore.
Consolidated net profit (PAT) reached INR 649.8 crore, which is 87% higher than INR 347.5 crore last year. This amount includes profit attributable to non-controlling interests in subsidiaries. The share attributable to Info Edge shareholders was INR 479.7 crore, a 51.6% increase from INR 316.4 crore.
Based on consolidated revenue, expenses, depreciation, and financing costs, operating EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) stands at approximately INR 354 crore, up 27.4% compared to the previous year, with a margin of 39.2% versus 34.5% the year prior.
Standalone operating revenue grew by 12.8% to INR 841.7 crore, and standalone operating profit before tax increased by 29.8% to INR 347.3 crore. Its margin expanded to 41.3% from approximately 35.9%. However, standalone net profit (PAT) fell by 92.9% to INR 333.8 crore from INR 4,720 crore. This decline is due to an exceptional gain of INR 5,200 crore recorded in the previous year from unrealized investment valuation following the merger of Makesense Technologies with PB Fintech, so this decrease does not reflect a comparable deterioration in operating performance.
Recruitment remained the largest source of income. The company's earnings presentation, including acquired businesses in its operational breakdown, shows that recruitment revenue accounts for about INR 682 crore, or 75.4% of the total. Standalone recruitment revenue grew by 13.3% YoY to INR 632 crore, and standalone operating profit before tax increased by 19.9% to INR 374 crore. The operating margin in this segment reached 59.1%.
The volume of orders in the recruitment sector grew by 12.6% in the second quarter and by 14.9% in the first half of fiscal year 27. The volume of services for candidates increased by 37%, and AI and data-based products for recruiters and job seekers accounted for a high single-digit share of total recruitment revenue.
The real estate sector generated about INR 134 crore, representing 14.8% of revenue. 99acres revenue grew by 16.7% YoY, and order volume increased by 21.2%. The number of property inquiries exceeded 33%, and daily active users of the app grew by 25%. Operating losses decreased by 93% to INR 1.6 crore, while cash flow from operations reached INR 22 crore compared to INR 2.3 crore. These figures indicate an improvement in the economic situation of the business, although sustainable operating profitability remains a challenge.
The partner search segment brought in about INR 53 crore, including INR 40 crore from Jeevansathi and INR 13 crore from Aisle. Jeevansathi revenue grew by 16.5%, reporting an operating profit of INR 2 crore. Aisle revenue increased by 35.1%, and order volume grew by 40%, but it recorded an operating loss of INR 3 crore. The combined order volume in the partner search sector grew by 23.1% YoY.
Education remained the weakest area. Shiksha generated about INR 35 crore in revenue, a decrease of 8.5% YoY, and order volume dropped by 27.2%. The company attributed this pressure to traffic issues related to AI, declining search traffic from Google, and reduced student interest in studying in the US as preferences shift towards the UK, Australia, and Europe. The business reported a negative operating cash flow of INR 16 crore.
Standalone cash flow from operations before tax increased by 27.4% YoY to INR 372.8 crore. As of September 30, 2026, the company reported a cash balance of approximately INR 4,976 crore, including balances held by wholly-owned subsidiaries.
The company's board of directors announced an interim dividend of INR 3 per share and approved investments of about INR 150 crore in the wholly-owned subsidiary Redstart Labs. The divestment from stakes in Medcords and Unnati Online—investments that were fully written down in previous years—was also approved.
