Joint military exercises between Uzbekistan and Russia concluded: helicopters, drones, and robots were used
The joint tactical training exercises 'Hamkorlik-2026' between the armed forces of Uzbekistan and Russia concluded after a week of activities. During the exercises, servicemen from both countries practiced the use of helicopters, FPV drones, and robots against a hypothetical enemy.
According to the press service of the Central Military District of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the exercises took place at the 'Termiz' training ground in the Surkhandarya region. The main objective was to conduct joint operations to detect, surround, and destroy hypothetical illegal armed groups crossing the state border.
According to the scenario, hypothetical terrorists violated the border and engaged in conflict with border guard units. Drone operators conducted aerial reconnaissance, determining the location of the hypothetical enemy and firing positions. The information obtained was transmitted to the crews of Mi-35 and Mi-24 helicopters for strikes.
Subsequently, the hypothetical enemy captured one of the territories bordering the border and attempted to attract additional forces. Units from Uzbekistan and Russia surrounded the enemy groups, identifying the location of their strongholds and equipment. Strikes were carried out against the hypothetical opponent's armored and automotive vehicles using FPV drones.
In subsequent stages of the exercises, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, 'Ulan-1' and 'Ulan-2' tactical all-terrain vehicles, quad bikes, and cross motorcycles were used. Tanks T-72, anti-tank missile systems, RPG-7 grenade launchers, and strike drones were also employed.
The final stage involved practicing actions to clear a populated area of the hypothetical enemy. Combat units operated with the support of fire groups, armored vehicles, and ground robotic complexes 'Courier'.
After the completion of practical events at the 'Termiz' training ground, a closing ceremony for the exercises was held. During the event, the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Russia were played by a military orchestra. Servicemen who demonstrated outstanding merits were awarded honorary badges, departmental awards, and valuable gifts.
