NFL Confirms Jay-Z's Participation in Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show

The National Football League (NFL) announced on Monday that rapper Jay-Z will perform at the show during Super Bowl LXI's halftime break, which is scheduled for February in Los Angeles.

Jay-Z's Roc Nation Entertainment has been organizing shows at the Super Bowl annually since 2020, selecting headliners, but the hip-hop mogul himself has not performed at this event before.

In a joint statement, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell noted: 'When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to organize the show, I had only one wish: that Jay-Z would one day take the stage himself when he felt the moment was right.'

Goodell added: 'I cannot be more excited that fans around the world will be able to see the artistry, creativity, and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.'

The announcement did not specify whether Jay-Z will be the sole headliner. It followed Jay-Z, Beyoncé's husband, performing two shows last week at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which will host Super Bowl on February 14th.

These concerts concluded a year-long tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album 'Reasonable Doubt.' Jay-Z himself, whose real name is Shawn Carter, stated: 'From 'Reasonable Doubt' to taking the Super Bowl stage—it has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the biggest stage in the world. This race continues to be a dream come true.'

As a demonstration of the level of star power Jay-Z could potentially bring to this spectacular concert, he performed in Los Angeles alongside Jon Legend, J. Cole, Dre, and Snoop Dogg.
