Main gates of Skukuza in Kruger National Park will be temporarily closed in November for repairs

Guests entering Kruger National Park through Skukuza should note the temporary change to the main camp entrance, as maintenance work is scheduled until December.

South African National Parks (SANParks) announced that the main gates of the Skukuza camp will be closed from Monday, November 2, to Friday, December 4, 2026. This is necessary to carry out vital roof repair work.

The closure will not prevent visitors from accessing the camp. A temporary entrance will be organized on Hippo Circle Street, with access possible via AM Spa and Skukuza Safari Lodge.

Park staff and special signage will guide visitors along established routes, ensuring safe and efficient movement in this area.

According to SANParks, the planned work is part of a permanent infrastructure management program aimed at maintaining the safety, functionality, and longevity of facilities within Kruger National Park.

Tourists heading to Skukuza during the closure period are advised to allow extra time to follow the temporary access schemes and carefully study local navigational information.
