Students from Mato Grosso do Sul can now register for free to compete for the remaining spots in the Student Financing Fund (Fies) for the second semester of 2026. The deadline for these registrations is November 3rd, and the process must be conducted through the Single Portal for Higher Education Access.
To participate in this selection process, interested individuals must have taken the National High School Exam (Enem) starting from 2010. It is mandatory to have a minimum average score of 450 points across the five applied tests, in addition to achieving a score greater than zero on the essay. Scores from participants who took the exam as trainees will not be accepted.
Additionally, one of the requirements is that the gross monthly family income per person does not exceed three minimum wages. Candidates who are pre-selected will also have to provide proof that they can maintain the minimum attendance required by the private higher education institution during the second academic semester of 2026.
How does Fies work?
The Student Financing Fund provides financial resources for students who intend to pursue undergraduate studies at private higher education institutions, provided these institutions meet the evaluation criteria defined by the Ministry of Education (MEC). This program enables the financing of educational costs, following the guidelines established for each modality, with payment occurring according to the conditions stipulated in the financing contract.
Remaining Spots
In this specific round, the remaining spots are reserved solely for financing contracts intended for the second academic semester of 2026, with no provision for extension to subsequent periods. Throughout the selection process, it will be evaluated whether the pre-selected candidates meet the academic requirements and have the ability to follow the college activities, respect the necessary minimum attendance, and complete the semester with adequate performance.
