Taubaté City Hall launches amnesty program with discounts of up to 100% on interest and fines

The Taubaté City Hall has implemented the Municipal Credit Recovery Program, an amnesty initiative aimed at regularizing both tax and non-tax debts. This program covers debts related to IPTU, ISS, ITBI, Simube, and others, provided they were due by December 31, 2025.

The benefits offered vary according to the payment modality. For those who opt for a lump-sum payment, there are discounts of up to 100% on fines and interest, valid until November 19, 2026. If the settlement is made by December 18, the discounts on fines and interest reach 90%.

Taxpayers who choose installment payments will also have access to significant reductions: 75% discount on interest and fines for 6-installment plans; 70% for 12 installments; 60% for 24 installments; and 50% for 36 installments. The final deadline to join the program is December 18, 2026.

It is important to note that certain charges are excluded from this benefit, including administrative and fiscal fines, such as those resulting from traffic violations, Sanitary Surveillance penalties, urban infraction notices, and punitive tax fines. Furthermore, repayments to the treasury are not covered, except those related to Bolsa Simube, nor are pecuniary condemnations arising from decisions of the Federal and State Audit Courts, or amounts linked to judicial actions for administrative improbity or popular actions.

Interested citizens can complete the entire procedure digitally by accessing the official portal of the Taubaté City Hall. This facility aims to provide greater agility and convenience in the process of settling municipal outstanding issues.

For in-person service, it is mandatory to schedule in advance through the city hall's website and attend the Tesourinho building, located at Rua Carneiro de Souza, 99, downtown, on the scheduled day and time. During the visit, specific documentation must be presented: CNPJ card for companies, ID and CPF for individuals, the property or municipal registration number, depending on the type of debt, and a simple power of attorney if represented by third parties. In cases of properties belonging to an estate, a copy of the inventory or the owner's death certificate must be attached.
