A series of events planned for the current week, from October 26 to 30, has been announced to agricultural producers.
On Friday, October 30, Western Cape Farmers’ Day will take place at Pine Haven Farms in Stellenbosch, organized by Food For Mzansi. The event will feature practical knowledge, opportunities for industry networking, demonstrations, and showcases of agricultural innovations, with farmer Sydney Klassen participating.
On Monday, October 26, the Commonwealth Agriculture Conference is scheduled. Although the conference itself will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 1 to 5, 2026, organizers invite attendees to the Pre-Conference Tour from October 29 to 31, 2026. This is an exclusive opportunity to learn about South African agricultural achievements before the main event.

Wednesday, October 28, offers a short course on aquaponics. Participants can undergo practical training at Kleinskuur Aquaponics in Pretoria from October 28 to 30 to learn how the combined cultivation of fish and plants ensures more sustainable food production.
On Thursday, October 29, a cattle auction is planned in Swellendam. However, it should be noted that the Swellendam Christmas Auction itself will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 11:00 at the Swellendam fairground in the Western Cape. On Friday, October 30, Legal Boere Meisie will host a webinar on water rights and licensing. Topics discussed include which types of water usage require a license, usage according to Appendix 1 and general authorization, and compliance requirements on the farm. The webinar will run from 13:00 to 14:15.
