Golden Arrows, AmaZulu, Siwelele, and Sekhukhune advance to the Carling Knockout quarter-finals

The teams that have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout tournament have been determined. AmaZulu FC, who were favored in their match against Kruger United, won with a score of 1-0. Arthur Zwane's team demonstrated high discipline in the away match, allowing them to safely progress.

Lamontville Golden Arrows 4–0 Chippa United

Golden Arrows delivered an impressive performance over the weekend, convincingly defeating Chippa United 4-0 at King Zwelithini Stadium. Sedie Dion and Sabelo Sithole scored in the first half, allowing the Abafana Bes'thende team to take control of the game. In the second half, Nhlanhla Zwane and Jerome Karelse cemented the victory, ending a difficult day for the Chilli Boys.

In another match between Polokwane City and Siwelele FC at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, the tension reached its peak. After 120 minutes of a physically demanding, drawn match, both teams held their defensive lines. However, Siwelele maintained composure in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 4-3 and securing their spot in the final eight.

Sekhukhune United 3–1 Richards Bay

Sekhukhune United guaranteed their place in the next round through active play in the second half against Richards Bay. After a quiet first 45 minutes, Babina Noko came on and scored three brilliant goals. Although Richards Bay managed to score one back, Sekhukhune confidently maintained a 3-1 lead.

Preview of Tuesday's Matches

Sunday's excitement will continue on Tuesday with three thrilling Round of 16 matches. The main focus will be on the traditional giants: Orlando Pirates will host Milford FC at Orlando Stadium, while Kaizer Chiefs will face the dangerous TS Galaxy side. In Pretoria, defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns will meet Marumo Gallants at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Given that unexpected results are always possible in cup competitions, each of these strong teams will need to be in full fighting shape to join the weekend winners in the quarter-final draw.
