Senco Gold to Acquire 68% Stake in August Jewellery for 68 Crore Rupees

Senco Gold Ltd announced on Sunday the signing of agreements to acquire sixty-eight percent of the shares of August Jewellery Pvt Ltd. This deal is valued at 68 crore rupees, and August Jewellery manages the 'Melorra' brand.

According to the company's regulatory filing, the investments will be made in tranches, and the completion of the deal is scheduled for February 2027, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

Following this acquisition, including the stake held by the promoters' group, Senco Gold's total share in August Jewellery will reach seventy-nine percent, after which the company will become a subsidiary of Senco Gold.

The investment will be carried out through the issuance of new equity capital, the proceeds of which are intended for the development and expansion of the company, as well as for the repayment of current obligations.

Strategic Significance of the Acquisition

Senco Gold emphasized that this takeover aligns with its digital and omnichannel strategy, particularly concerning the servicing of the fast-growing segment of young consumers. It is expected that Melorra's design solutions and e-commerce capabilities will complement Senco Gold's existing strengths and create operational synergy.

The company also specified that no approval from government or regulatory bodies is required to execute this acquisition.
