The Chinese automotive company Chery, known for manufacturing cars and SUVs, has begun to enter the two-wheeled transport segment by introducing two new electric models.
The company demonstrated an electric cruiser and an adventure-style scooter. The Grow C3 attracted particular interest—a model that Chery positions as the world's first intelligent cruiser with extended range based on artificial intelligence. This bike utilizes EREV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) technology.
According to the company's statement, in the EREV system, the electric motor provides propulsion, while the gasoline engine is used exclusively to generate electricity. This allows users to avoid constant reliance on charging stations during long trips, similar to how it is implemented in range-extender vehicles.
During a technological event held in Wuhan, Chery unveiled its new two-wheeled vehicles under the Cinnox brand. In addition to the Grow C3, an adventure-style scooter was presented, which, according to the company, can cover a distance of 150 to 200 kilometers on a single charge.
The Grow C3 is designed not only for urban use but also considers the needs of tourism and camping. It is equipped with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, allowing other electrical devices to be powered from the vehicle's battery, eliminating the need for an auxiliary generator during extended journeys.
The company also presented this bike as an AI-based connected vehicle but has not yet disclosed details regarding the specific artificial intelligence functions available in the mass-produced version. No official announcement has been made regarding connectivity features, software, or over-the-air updates.
It is important to note that Chery did not provide information on the engine power, battery capacity, fuel tank volume, overall range, or charging time for the Grow C3. Furthermore, unlike conventional motorcycles, the gasoline engine serves an auxiliary function for energy production here.
There are speculations that Chery is preparing to enter the Indian market, following previous reports of the brand's collaboration with JSW. However, neither party has made an official statement regarding the launch of these two-wheeled models in India at this time.
