Various events marked the g1 AC highlights between October 18 and 24, 2026. An unusual scene involved pedagogue Cléia Rodrigues Machado, 45, at her residence in Rio Branco, where she observed a rat bathing in her laundry tank on Sunday (18).
The images captured the wet animal inside the water accumulated in the tank, rubbing its body and head in gestures reminiscent of human hygiene habits. After sharing the video online, Cleia reported that it surpassed 100 thousand views. She found the rat around 9:30 AM while washing a uniform for her son that had been soaked since the previous night (17). The rat fled as soon as the family dog barked.
In another news item, the couple Elaine Aparecida Silva Leal, 40, and Luiz Miguel Pereira, 43, celebrated a new chapter in their 15 years of union. Luiz fulfilled his desire to donate a kidney to Elaine, who has lived with chronic kidney disease (CKD) for years. The surgery took place on Saturday (17) at the Governador Flaviano Melo Hospital Foundation (Fundhacre) in Rio Branco.
This procedure represented the second living kidney transplant performed in Acre in 2026 in less than two months; the first was performed on teenager Lucas Linhares, 14. Elaine mentioned that the CKD diagnosis appeared at the beginning of her relationship with Luiz, in 2011, and that her treatment began including hemodialysis in August 2024.
The family of Willian Silva de Oliveira, 32, who passed away after suffering an electric shock during the March 2024 flood in the rural area of Capixaba, inland Acre, should receive compensation of R$ 110 thousand from the concessionaire Energisa. The Judiciary confirmed last Tuesday (20) the company's conviction to pay moral damages to his partner and two children, in addition to a monthly pension. The decision stipulates R$ 40 thousand for the wife and R$ 35 thousand for each of the minor children. The monthly pension was set at R$ 470.66, distributed equally among the three beneficiaries, and the family is also entitled to retroactive amounts from Willian's death, corrected by INPC and default interest.
In Cruzeiro do Sul, inland Acre, a peculiar situation attracted the attention of residents on Tuesday morning (20). A 26-year-old man was found sleeping atop an advertising LED screen, six meters above the ground, in Praça Orleir Cameli, downtown. The Fire Department was called for the rescue, isolating the area and using high-altitude rescue techniques. According to information provided to g1, the man, a resident of the Formoso neighborhood, had climbed the structure out of fear of being attacked by other people. The Military Police (PM-AC) was also called.
Another highlight was the tribute to journalist Ayres Rocha, who died at 62 in Rio Branco on the 14th due to cancer complications. Davi Luiz Lopes Ribeiro, 12, showed his interest in journalism by imitating the presenter during Fantasy Day. The seventh day mass for the journalist took place on Tuesday (20) at the Nossa Senhora de Nazaré Cathedral, downtown, at 7 PM. Davi's costume, representing Jornal do Acre 2nd edition (JAC2), was prepared even before the family learned of the death.
Finally, the candidate for the government of Acre, Alan Rick (Republicanos), participated in an interview conducted by Rede Amazônica Acre on Thursday (22). The interview was broadcast live by the station and g1, with the participation of journalist Fabiano Villela from TV Globo. Although Rede Amazônica promoted a debate among candidates for the Acre executive, candidate Mailza Assis (PP) canceled her presence due to previously scheduled campaign commitments in Brasiléia and Epitaciolândia, inland.
