Giant gold earrings weighing 16.5 kg created in Dubai set two world records

Gold earrings are very popular among women, and although many prefer small and light options, there are also very massive designer jewelry pieces. In Dubai, one jewelry company presented colossal gold earrings that attracted the attention of the whole world and won two world records.

These impressive earrings were made by Joyalukkas Jewellery in Dubai. They are named 'Mayura Sahasra', which translates to 'thousand peacocks'. The total weight of this pair is 16.514 kilograms, and they are made of 22-carat gold, meaning over 16 kilograms of pure gold were used.

Guinness World Records recognized this pair as the heaviest and largest gold earrings in the world, thus the company set two records with one design.

The earrings have unusual dimensions compared to ordinary jewelry. Their length reaches approximately 1.215 meters, equivalent to about 4 feet, and the diameter is about 68.2 centimeters. By size, they can be comparable to the height of a small child. Due to their scale, daily wear is impossible; they are created to showcase magnificent craftsmanship and imposing dimensions.

The company presented these earrings to the public in Dubai on October 24, 2026. Previously, a record for the heaviest gold earrings was registered on October 12.

The creation of these monumental pieces required significant effort. 55 skilled artisans worked on them for several months, totaling 5840 hours. In addition to weight and size, a feature of these earrings is their design, which is inspired by traditional Indian motifs. Fine engraving has been applied to them, giving them uniqueness.

The company's goal was to present high craftsmanship and traditional Indian jewelry design to the world. These earrings demonstrate the amount of labor and meticulousness required by artisans when creating gold jewelry.

The name 'Mayura Sahasra' has deep meaning: 'Mayur' means peacock, and 'Sahasra' means thousand. In Indian culture, the peacock symbolizes beauty, grandeur, and pride. The earring design was influenced by this symbol, and elements resembling peacock feathers can be seen in its structure.

The shape of the earrings resembles the traditional bell shape often found in Indian jewelry. However, their enormous size and the amount of gold distinguish them from other jewelry pieces.

These earrings are not intended for sale as ordinary jewelry. The company displays them as its outstanding achievement in the 'Jewel of Joy' showroom, located in Dubai's Gold Souk. Visitors can view them up close, and there is no charge for visiting. Dubai is already known worldwide as a center for gold and expensive jewelry trade, and these giant earrings further enhance the city's appeal.

The earrings received two separate titles from Guinness World Records: the first is the pair of the heaviest gold earrings in the world, and the second is the pair of the largest earrings in the world. Thus, the company presented traditional Indian design in a completely new format. This victory highlights not only the volume of gold but also the skill and labor of the craftsmen who created such large and detailed pieces.

In conclusion, these earrings weighing 16.514 kilograms are exceptional due to their weight, size, and design. Their grandiose appearance has become a center of attraction for people from all over the world, unlike ordinary jewelry that women usually wear.

Challenge: Can you find the hidden cat in the picture?

Optical illusion pictures are often circulated on social media that appear normal at first glance, but they contain things that are difficult to spot immediately. These pictures offer people an opportunity to test their observation skills and mental quickness. Here is an interesting brain game where you have to look closely at a picture and find the hidden cat.

In this picture, several people are engaged in their respective activities; some are reading a book, some are working on a typewriter, and some are standing by the window talking. However, there is one object hidden in this entire scene that requires intense concentration to find.

Optical illusion pictures attract people a lot because the objects are clearly present, yet our first glance fails to recognize them. The main reason for this is that many elements are present in the picture simultaneously, and our attention usually focuses on large or more obvious things, causing small things to be missed.

The scene depicts the atmosphere of a room. On the left, there is a large bookshelf filled with books. In front of it, an elderly woman is sitting on a chair reading a book. In the middle part of the room, a young man wearing headphones is working on a typewriter, next to whom a small bird is also visible. On the other side, a woman and a man are conversing near the window, and the moon and an airplane are also visible outside the window. In the right corner of the room, a child is busy reading a book.

The task is to find the cat among all these elements. It is possible that your vision might first go to the books, clock, or window, but to complete the challenge, it is necessary to pay attention to the right side of the picture and not overlook the small details there.

You should try to find the cat within 10 seconds. Examine every part of the picture carefully, especially the area where the child is sitting and reading. If the cat appears immediately, it indicates that your vision is capable of catching subtle details. If it is not found immediately, there is no need to worry, as in such pictures, our attention is often focused on the main characters and surrounding objects, which can take time to identify a small thing.

If you haven't found the cat, see here to know its location. The cat is sitting in the lap of the child who is reading on the right side of the picture. The child is holding a book, and the cat is seen sitting in front in the child's lap. The cat is light brown and white, and it also has some dark spots on its body. It is located just below the child's book. Due to focusing on other objects, the cat might be missed at first glance.

Major Data Leak at CBFC: Scripts and Contracts for Over 500 Films Revealed

A major data leak related to the film industry has been discovered. According to reports, documents concerning over 500 films were leaked from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) online portal. Among these stolen materials are film scripts, certification records, and contracts.

This incident occurred via the CBFC's e-Cinepramaan portal, which is used for the film certification process. It is reported that access was gained to some documents on this portal, and they were uploaded to the Internet Archive. However, it is currently unclear how the data leak happened or what volume of information was affected.

Scripts and Contracts Also Become Public Knowledge

The leak affected not only film scripts but also other critical documents. These include CBFC orders and business agreements related to the films. It was noted that some documents contain information about distribution deals and licensing fees.

Since this information is extremely important for filmmakers and distributors, its public disclosure could negatively impact business negotiations and deals. It is important to emphasize that this refers to the leak of associated documents, not that the films themselves were fully published.

CBFC Initiates Investigation

According to available data, CBFC has initiated an investigation into this matter, and a security audit is being conducted. Meanwhile, the Internet Archive has stated its intention to remove the relevant accounts and file a complaint with cybercrime authorities. Information was also provided to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In).

It remains unclear who is responsible for this leak and how widely the incorrect information has been used. Nevertheless, this case has once again raised questions about the reliability of storing confidential documents on government online portals.

How award-winning Bengaluru airport enhances passenger experience through art and design

Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has gained widespread recognition for its eco-conscious design, which is based on lush garden architecture. This year, it entered the Top 5 of Skytrax's global rankings in the 'Best Art in an Airport' category.

This achievement highlights the airport's systemic approach to integrating art into its operational and architectural structure. The created works are not viewed as separate exhibits but are an integral part of the entire passenger journey.

The airport also positions itself as a living museum, paying special attention to showcasing local Karnataka art. The fusion of cultural narratives and spatial design creates a deep and engaging experience for travelers.

Yamini Telkar, advisor for the art program at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), noted that 'art and culture were conceived as an integral part of the four pillars of design, alongside the Garden Terminal, Sustainability, and Technology.' The art program serves as a cultural bridge for the seamless integration of art into the infrastructure.

She added that this forms an immersive passenger journey focused on two main themes: the rich heritage and culture of Karnataka, and the concept of Navarasa, or nine emotions from Bharata's Natyashastra.

Formally, the Art Program was launched on September 8, 2023. Currently, over 300 artworks by more than one hundred artists are displayed in both domestic and international terminal arrival and departure areas of the airport.

Among the featured artists are Vivek Matthew, Ganesh Shankar, Dinesh Manir, LN Tallur, Madhvi Subrahmanyam, Yayati Godbole, Sakshi Gupta, and many others. Their diverse works include paintings, installations, mixed media, sculptures, and digital displays.

Telkar explained that 'over 90% of the artworks were commissioned specifically for the Art Program. Institutional partners include the Department of Archaeology Museums and Heritage, as well as the Museum of Art and Photography.'

Airports function not only as transport hubs but also as the first and last impression of a destination. However, for many passengers, the airport experience is often defined by queues, navigation issues, crowded spaces, uncertainty, and long waits.

Art and design have the power to transform an airport from a transit point into a place that welcomes, inspires, and connects people, as shown in the photo essay. Integrating creativity into the airport environment makes journeys more memorable and engaging.

Human-centric design, clear navigation, intuitive layouts, and accessible signage can ease passenger movement. Even the flight information displays in Terminal 2 offer passengers recommendations for visiting art installations based on available time.

The use of natural materials, biophilic design, natural light, greenery, and calming color palettes helps make terminals less stressful. Art, immersive installations, and the sound of running water soften the tension in a busy setting.

The integration of local art, crafts, architecture, materials, stories, and cultural references gives passengers an authentic sense of place. Terminals can become cultural showcases, offering visitors a meaningful introduction to the region and instilling pride in local residents.

For example, the Bengaluru airport hosts live performances during festivals. This week marked the six-day cultural celebration of Nadahabba Dasara with live music, dance, traditional crafts, games, and culinary experiences.

The artworks throughout the airport can create unforgettable moments throughout the passenger's journey, making the airport experience unique and contributing to organic word-of-mouth promotion.

It is important, however, to ensure that the creativity enhances usability rather than distracting from important passenger information. This balance was carefully considered in the design of Terminal 2.

For BIAL, the overall architecture and interior design were curated by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). However, as Telkar explains, the schematic planning and placement of artworks were carried out by the team of artists.

The identity of Bengaluru is reflected even in the entrance concepts. 'They showcase the lush greenery of Bengaluru and Karnataka in the form of backlit photographs that were specially commissioned,' she describes.

Inspired by the Natyashastra's Navarasa, the airport's Art Program interprets nine fundamental human emotions through various artistic expressions: love, laughter, sorrow, anger, heroism, fear, disgust, wonder, and tranquility.

The collection of works was formed through open competitions, partnerships, loan programs, patronage, commissions, and art events. This multi-layered approach allows the program to unite diverse artistic voices and practices.

The artistic experience extends beyond the airport. In the arrivals area, passengers enjoy an impressive installation titled 'Soul of Bengaluru' by the renowned Catalan artist Jaume Plensa. This sculpture consists of intertwined figures that symbolize the collective human capital that contributes to Bengaluru's growth as a global technology and innovation hub—individual personalities united by a common goal, imagination, and pursuit.

In conclusion, art and design are not just aesthetic additions; they are strategic tools for enhancing efficiency and differentiating the airport. They improve the entire travel process and even encourage passengers to choose specific terminals and airlines for their trips.
