Huawei's Yinwang joins CATL battery swap ecosystem to develop compatible vehicles

Automotive technology company Huawei Yinwang has entered into a strategic agreement with CATL and its battery swap subsidiary, Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology, known as CAES.

Under this partnership, the companies will collaborate on ensuring battery compatibility, developing swap networks, and integrating Huawei's Qiankun driving technology with CATL's Choco-Swap system.

This cooperation will link vehicle services, stations, and cloud services. This will allow vehicles to independently determine the need for a battery replacement, locate a suitable station, approach and align with it, after which an automated replacement will take place in 99 seconds, allowing the driver to continue driving.

Furthermore, Yinwang will cooperate with its automotive partners to create vehicles that are compatible with the CATL battery swap network. The agreement was signed on October 19th in Nindei City, Fujian Province.
