According to data published in the publication 'Bollywood Hungama', significant changes have occurred in the release plans for the film 'Ramayana 2'. Initially, it was assumed that both films starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash would be released during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively. However, it is now known that the release of the second part of 'Ramayana' is being postponed until Diwali 2028.
According to the report published in 'Bollywood Hungama', for Namit Malhotra, the film 'Ramayana' is not just a cinematic project but a deep emotional attachment. He aims to provide the Indian audience with an unprecedented cinematic experience. Although the first part is preparing for release soon, the production of the second part requires additional time. It should be noted that the true scale of 'Ramayana' will be revealed in the second part, where the battle will be shown.
The source informed 'Bollywood Hungama' that the development of action design took longer than expected. This is because Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari wanted to create the most original and unique action scenes in world cinema. Namit is confident that through 'Ramayana' he can leave his mark globally, so he decided to further expand the scope of 'Ramayana 2'. At the same time, he did not let budget constraints prevent his vision of bringing Indian history to the world stage.
Furthermore, it was announced that the new release date will be revealed in the post-credits of the film, which is planned for release during Diwali. The initial reaction to the film was extremely positive.
'Ramayana Part 1' will be released in various formats, including IMAX 3D, in theaters worldwide on November 5, 2026. In this film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Yash, Anupam Kher, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, and Vivek Oberoi will participate.
