Santa Teresa Square in Teresópolis receives tourist clock with thermometer

Residents and visitors of Teresópolis now have a new reference for time and temperature in the city center with the installation of a tourist clock in Praça Baltazar da Silveira, known as Praça Santa Teresa. This new equipment, which includes an analog thermometer, was placed near the Parish Church.

The inauguration of this clock took place on October 15th, a date celebrated in honor of Saint Teresa of Ávila, the municipality's patron saint. The project was conceived by the Santa Teresa d’Ávila Parish, with the collaboration of Father Jorge Luiz Pacheco de Medeiros, and received support mediated by Sincomércio de Teresópolis and sponsorship from Sicredi.

This undertaking arose from the combined efforts of the parish, the entity representing local commerce, and the financial institution Sicredi, aiming to meet a community need. Such coordination allows proposals to become advantages for the population and reinforces the commitment of these entities to urban appreciation.

Tharles Brito, manager of the Sicredi Teresópolis branch, emphasized that the support of members is fundamental to making initiatives like this possible. He mentioned that the institution has been operating in Teresópolis for approximately two and a half years, with over three thousand members in the city. Tharles stated: “When we strengthen public spaces, we value the city, boost the local economy, and create new opportunities for everyone.”

The clock launch ceremony was integrated into the patron saint's festivities, coinciding also with the delivery of restoration and expansion works for the Parish Church, as well as the revitalization of Praça Santa Teresa itself. This set of improvements underscores the importance of the location as a meeting point for families, residents, and tourists, maintaining its connection to the identity and history of Teresópolis.

For Sicredi, sponsoring this project means actively participating in the daily life of the city and contributing to the region's progress. By combining proximity in relationship with support for local actions, the institution strengthens its bond with people and the places that make up its narratives.

Support for the clock installation is part of a broader strategy by Sicredi both in the municipality and throughout the Serrana Region of Rio de Janeiro. A new milestone of this activity will be on October 26th, with the opening of the Vale de Bonsucesso branch, located in the Third District of Teresópolis. This new unit aims to increase the institution's physical presence and facilitate access to financial solutions for citizens, businesses, and rural producers.

The expansion seeks to adapt service to the reality of those who live, work, operate, and produce in the area. Sicredi aligns this expansion with its purpose of being a partner in the achievements of individuals, businesses, and local production, balancing human service, knowledge of the specificities of each locality, and dedication to the development of the territories where it is established.
