A new brand, Denza, which is the luxury division of BYD, is entering the Indian automotive market. The launch date for this vehicle in the Indian market has been set for November 13. Details of the retail strategy will be revealed along with BYD's latest products on the day of the launch.
Denza plans to occupy a higher price segment compared to BYD models. As its first product, the company may introduce the Denza D9 MPV. This vehicle will compete with models such as the MG M9 and Kia Carnival, as well as the Toyota Vellfire, Lexus LM, and Mercedes-Benz V-Class, given the growing demand for similar vehicles, especially among those connected to the film industry.
The Denza D9 is an electric luxury MPV with a seven-seater cabin. It will be equipped with triple-zone climate control, a premium audio system, genuine leather upholstery, a panoramic roof, and electric seats with ventilation and heating functions. The seating configuration will be 2 + 2 + 3, with captain's chairs, ottomans, ADAS systems, and other options in the second row.
In India, the company may release this model with a battery pack capacity of 103 kWh. The car will have a front electric motor providing 313 hp and 360 Nm of torque. The claimed range is 520 kilometers. Denza may present this vehicle at a competitive price. Furthermore, Denza is preparing to release another performance-oriented product, which could be the Denza Z9 GT.
This second vehicle will feature an aggressive design and a 122.5 kWh battery. It will be equipped with three electric motors, totaling 1156 hp and reaching 1210 Nm of torque. The claimed range for this model is 600 kilometers, and it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
