The Fato ou Fake service, which is an information verification service from Grupo Globo, was launched on July 30, 2018. Teams from the publications g1, «O Globo», «Extra», «Valor», CBN, GloboNews, and TV Globo are involved in the verification process.
Journalists monitor content daily to detect suspicious materials that are actively spread on social networks and in messaging applications such as WhatsApp.
To submit material for verification, users can send suspicious content directly to the Fato ou Fake team. This can be done by adding the phone number +55 (21) 97305-9827 and sending a message, or by using the provided link.
It is also suggested to add the WhatsApp number +55 (21) 97305-9827 and send a welcome message to register in the channel.
