Mumuzinho is completing his live album titled 'Simples assim' with the inclusion of new songs, including a reinterpretation of a sertanejo anthem, a piseiro hit, and a pagode song by the group Exaltasamba.
The Carioca singer recorded new tracks, such as 'Eu choro,' which is a re-recording of an Exaltasamba song, and also 'Chora, me liga,' originally by the duo João Bosco & Vinicius. These songs are part of the five new tracks that complement the edition of the album 'Simples assim.'
'Eu choro,' composed by Délcio Luiz in collaboration with Alex Theodoro Ferreira, was released by Exaltasamba in 2001 on the album 'Bons momentos' and quickly became a big hit for the pagode group. After 25 years, the song gains Mumuzinho's interpretation.
The album recordings were made during a show presented by the artist on March 24, under the musical direction of Wilson Prateado, for an invited audience gathered at Parque Glória Maria, located in Santa Teresa, a neighborhood in the central zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
Eighteen of the seventeen tracks on the album 'Simples assim' had already been released on May 28. Five months after this initial release, Mumuzinho made the complete audiovisual version of the album available on Thursday night, October 22.
In addition to these re-recordings, the repertoire features new songs such as 'Amor de ontem' (composed by Thales Lessa, BG, Prateado, and Rodrigo Oliveira) and 'Skin de solteira' (composed by Ricardo Vismarck, Ronael, Elvis Elan, BG, and Rodrigo Oliveira).
Another highlight among the 17 tracks is the adaptation of 'Chora, me liga,' one of the biggest hits of university sertanejo released in 2008 by the voices of João Bosco & Vinicius, now presented in the pagode rhythm.
In the medley that closes Mumuzinho's live album, 'Chora, me liga' is presented along with 'Esquema preferido,' a 2020 piseiro hit by DJ Ivis (who collaborated with Valter Danado on the composition) and amplified by the duo Barões da Pisadinha in a 2021 recording.
