The Tashkent administration announced that plans have been approved for installing smart water meters in residential buildings in 2027. The main goal of this project is to achieve water supply balance. The districts where the devices will be placed have already been determined.
Discussion of Plans
A working meeting chaired by O. Muminov, Deputy Mayor of Tashkent, was dedicated to these plans. Representatives from Technopark LLC and the French firm SUEZ International SAS participated in the meeting, according to the city administration.
Participants in the meeting agreed on the need to carry out the work in stages and systematically, ensuring the coordination of efforts of organizations responsible for implementing the project.
Current Achievements and Goals
Since the beginning of 2026, over 190,000 smart water meters have been installed free of charge in the Sergeli, Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Uchtepa, and Yangiha'ot districts. The city administration emphasized that these measures will allow for accurate and transparent accounting of drinking water consumption, contributing to the rational use of water resources.
Furthermore, it is expected that the introduction of these systems will improve billing accuracy and support the further digitalization of the capital's water supply system.
