Samsung increased the availability of One UI 9 on its smartphones in Brazil this week. The Galaxy A36, along with the Galaxy A27 and fifth-generation foldables, began receiving the update on Tuesday, October 20, according to change logs published by the manufacturer.
Additionally, the Galaxy A56 also started receiving the new system, apparently on Thursday, October 22, although Samsung has not officially confirmed this. One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and has been progressively distributed across the country since September.
With this new update cycle, the range of eligible Galaxy Z line models has been fully covered in Brazil. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 received One UI 9, which represents their last major system update, as predicted by Samsung itself. Other updated devices include the Galaxy S26, S26, and S24 series, part of the S23 line, sixth and seventh-generation foldables, and the Galaxy A57.
Furthermore, One UI 9 already comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8, Galaxy S26 FE, and Galaxy Tab S12. In the S line, the Galaxy S23 FE is still awaiting the update, while the Galaxy A37 is pointed out as the next mid-range device in the queue for reception.
It is important to note that Samsung launched One UI 9 in July, presenting it alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8, and began distributing this version to older devices in September. The main focus of this update lies in expanding the functionalities of Galaxy AI.
To check if the device itself has received the update package, users can access the 'Software Update' section within the phone's settings.
