WAV Festival is preparing to return to Cape Town and debut in Pretoria for the first time in January 2027, featuring local talent alongside international headliners Ty Dolla $ign and KWN. The festival, organized by Africa Creative Agency (ACA), is scheduled for two days: January 2, 2027, in Cape Town and January 3, 2027, in Pretoria.
The festival promises music lovers two days filled with R&B, African sounds, and global influences. This announcement followed the opportunity to experience the festival's atmosphere at the recent Content Creator Awards ceremony, where DJ sets were packed with R&B hits.
On Saturday, January 2, the legendary South African duo Mafikizolo will headline the program in Cape Town. Their performance will be accompanied by artists such as Lordkez, WizTheMc, Lusanda, Thando Zide, and Xowie, ensuring a mix of established and rising stars.
The Cape Town event will also feature DJ sets from TXC and Juls, along with sounds from DJ Loyd and Sir Vincent. Through the blending of R&B, African music, and global influences, the lineup reflects contemporary musical trends, providing a platform for local artists alongside world-class stars.
On Sunday, January 3, WAV will hold its debut in Pretoria at SunBet Arena. International headliners Ty Dolla $ign and KWN will lead the program in Pretoria, joined by Lordkez, Lusanda, and Xowie. The expansion into Pretoria marks the festival's growth, which has been shaping its identity by uniting international R&B artists with South African musicians and DJs.
Despite having different lineups in the two cities, the overall concept of the festival remains focused on the intersection of music, fashion, and culture, with R&B serving as the connecting element between performances.
For fans planning to attend with friends, a special 'four tickets for the price of three' promotion is available for a limited time. Tickets for the Cape Town event on January 2, 2027, can be purchased through Howler, while tickets for the Pretoria show on January 3 can be bought via Webtickets.
