Over 300 Aadhaar cards, including many children's, found in garbage dump in Tirupur

People regularly visit centers to apply for Aadhaar cards to correct name errors or change addresses. After this, they wait for the cards to be delivered by mail. However, a situation arose where cards intended for home delivery were found in a garbage dump several kilometers from the recipient's address.

This incident occurred in the Arivoli area, near Palladma, in the Tirupur district, Tamil Nadu state. Over 300 original Aadhaar cards were discovered in the trash. Most of these cards are issued to schoolchildren, but cards belonging to elderly people and women were also found.

Postal envelopes were found along with the cards, indicating that documents meant for legitimate owners ended up in the trash bin. After the discovery, local residents reported the incident to the Revenue Department.

Local residents passing by the Arivoli area near Palladma noticed scattered Aadhaar cards and postal envelopes in the trash by the roadside. Initially, only a few cards were spotted, but upon closer inspection, a large number of documents was found. It was established that there were over 300 Aadhaar cards there, after which the people notified the Revenue Department about the incident.

This is not a case of losing one or two documents randomly; the discovery of such a large quantity of identification documents in one place raises serious questions. Most of the found cards, it is reported, are issued to schoolchildren, in addition to which cards belonging to women and the elderly were found.

The found Aadhaar cards list addresses from the Avinashi area and surroundings, which belong to the Tirupur district but are different from the Arivoli area where the cards were found. The fact that they were found together with postal envelopes makes the situation even more significant. Questions arise: should the cards be delivered via postal service, and was there any negligence in the process? Or was someone brought them from another place and threw them away here? Or is there another reason? Answers to these questions can only be determined through an investigation. Local residents have already reported the find to the Revenue Department, and further investigation will help clarify the whole picture.
