Porsche launches drifting driving course with the 911 GT3 model

Porsche is introducing a new course focused on teaching customers how to perform drifts using the 911 GT3 model. This half-day training costs US$ 1,500, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 7,800.

This initiative is part of the brand's Track Experience program and is scheduled to begin in 2027 in the United States. It is notable that this is the first time the manufacturer has dedicated comprehensive training to a single vehicle; all cars used in the classes will be the GT3, which has an estimated value of US$ 240 thousand in the US (about R$ 1.24 million).

The sessions will take place exclusively at Barber Motorsports Park, located in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. The initial option, called GT Drift, begins with a brief theoretical lesson on vehicle dynamics. Subsequently, participants head to the skid pad, a circular area designated for training vehicle control at the limit of adhesion.

The practical training covers maneuvers such as braking during corners, exercises to induce rear rotation, and drift practice.

For more experienced drivers, Porsche has developed the Masters GT, an intensive three-day course, priced at US$ 23 thousand (approximately R$ 118.9 thousand), a price comparable to a brand new BYD Dolphin Mini in Brazil. This course is exclusive to guests who have already completed the Masters RS, which also lasts three days and costs US$ 10.6 thousand (R$ 54.8 thousand).

The first day of the Masters GT takes place in the complex's test area, focusing on advanced vehicle control. In the two subsequent days, students use the circuit, alternating between free laps and detailed telemetry data analysis, always under instructor supervision.

Porsche establishes the Masters GT as the highest level of its program. The introductory course, held at Barber, lasts one day and costs US$ 2,500 (R$ 12.9 thousand).

It is worth mentioning that Track Experience is also offered in Brazil, specifically at the Velo Città racetrack, located in Mogi Guaçu, São Paulo. When the program was launched in the country, it only offered the first two modules, and students could use their own Porsche vehicles. For Master levels and above, training was required to be conducted abroad, at renowned tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps and Nürburgring.
