Uzbekistan returned $850,000 in unpaid wages to citizens abroad

The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan managed to recover $850,000 from foreign employers for 817 Uzbek citizens between January and September 2026. These funds were obtained as a result of resolving complaints regarding unpaid wages and compensation for compatriots working abroad.

The largest number of such cases was registered in Russia, with 533 cases recorded. Additionally, the agency helped resolve issues in Turkey (155 cases), South Korea (92 cases), and other countries (37 cases).

During the same nine-month period, the Agency also assisted 532 citizens whose identity documents were held by intermediaries and foreign employers. Of these cases, 331 were registered in Russia, 185 in Turkey, 11 in Kazakhstan, and five in South Korea.

The Migration Agency strongly recommends that citizens facing difficulties while working abroad contact them via the short number 1282 or connect with the Telegram bot @huquqiy_yordam_uzbot. Inquiries are accepted around the clock.
