The Iranian women's national sitting volleyball team advanced to the final of the Asian Para Games 2026 in Nagoya after defeating host Japan with a score of 3–0 (25–14, 25–16, 25–20) in the semi-final held on Thursday.
In a tense match played at the Nagoya City Park Gymnasium before the support of local fans, the team, led by Maryam Iranmanesh, demonstrated dominant play, winning three consecutive sets and securing their place in the final.
Before reaching the playoffs, the Iranian women's team overcame Mongolia, but they suffered a defeat against China during the group stage. The convincing victory in the semi-final allowed them to qualify for the gold medal match.
In the final, scheduled for Friday, the Iranian team will face the winner of the semi-final between China and Thailand. The Iranian team is now aiming to maintain its momentum and compete for the gold medal at the Asian Para Games 2026 in Nagoya.
