Review of Indian Idol Legends Return: The return of old stars and a new format

The new show Indian Idol – Legends Return combines nostalgia and glamour through the return of former contestants. The program features 12 pairs, and Himesh Reshammi's signature style adds spectacle. The question remains: can this musical event become a real hit?

Some television projects are capable not only of entertaining but also of reviving memories by attracting artists who previously won the hearts of viewers with their vocals. The show's concept looks intriguing after the first two episodes, but its true potential is yet to be revealed.

The return of well-known singers such as Abhijit Sawant, Amit Sana, Salman Ali, Saily Kamble, and Rishi Singh has been a gift for long-time viewers, stirring up old memories. Despite their established fame, the artists need to demonstrate the quality of their current vocals.

This time, 24 singers are divided into 12 duets. The duet format brings freshness, as success depends not only on a good voice but also on the interaction and chemistry between partners. If both performers can enhance each other, the performance can be magnificent. This experiment is interesting after the first two episodes, but its real test awaits.

Indian Idol began in 2004, inspired by the international format Pop Idol. In the first season, Abhijit Sawant was the winner, and Amit Sana was the runner-up. Over time, the show has transformed from a purely vocal competition into a platform that celebrates struggle, emotion, and unforgettable voices. Legends Return aims to continue this legacy in a new format.

Himesh Reshammi's characteristic style, confidence, and cinematic flair enliven the show, and his long association with Indian Idol creates a sense of closeness for the audience. Nevertheless, his role as a judge will truly unfold only when he can combine his style with impartial judgment and attention to musical nuances. After all, while charisma can embellish an event, it is the melodies that capture hearts.

In this season, participants must also evaluate each other's performances. Judgments from music-savvy artists can add new excitement to the show. However, when rivals determine your scores, questions about fairness inevitably arise. After the first two episodes, this format seems engaging, but its true test will come later. Creators should ensure that the competition remains focused on music, rather than ego and unnecessary conflicts.

The main strength of Indian Idol – Legends Return lies in the combination of returning faces and a new format. 24 singers, 12 pairs, and the presence of Himesh Reshammi lend the show a touch of nostalgia and glamour. However, to maintain viewer attention in the long term, strong vocals, impressive musical arrangements, and excellent chemistry between pairs are necessary. While the beginning is promising, turning the show into a hit requires more powerful performances.

The show's motto, 'One victory is not enough, you must win again and again,' perfectly reflects its essence. Old contestants have experience and recognition, but a big task for the new pairs is to prove their worth. At the same time, the creators must find a balance between glamour, nostalgia, and competitiveness, putting music first.

Overall, after two episodes, the show presents an interesting blend of old memories and new experiments. The return of 24 singers, the 12-pair format, and Himesh Reshammi's participation make it worth watching. Now the main question is whether this show can maintain the magic of music going forward.

Khemish Reshammi gives advice to Indian Idol legends on the importance of thirst for knowledge

The popular television singing reality show Indian Idol has resumed filming under the name Indian Idol Legends Return. This season features 24 veteran legends competing in 12 pairs. This season looks quite intriguing.

Khemish Reshammi, who serves as a judge on the show, is very pleased to see former contestants in this new format. He believes that any singer's success depends not only on their voice but also on having a desire for constant self-improvement.

Reshammi emphasized that a singer must possess a thirst for knowledge. He added: 'Being a judge means not just recognizing a voice, but understanding the singer's potential, their individuality, and their courage to express their point of view on stage. I have walked this path myself, so I know that ups and downs in a career are inevitable. Therefore, I understand how important it is to start anew after such difficulties. You have to start from a clean slate and never let your enthusiasm fade. Because I have experienced this, when I listen to any contestant, I look not only at their vocals but also at originality, and that special quality that makes a performance unforgettable, along with the desire to achieve something. My journey has taught me this.'

Khemish noted that his life journey has taught him the importance of setting challenges for oneself, learning new things, and keeping one's passion alive. He stated: 'I am very happy to be part of this season that brings back these voices. In this season, they have another chance to prove their worth. Because I have always believed that one victory is not enough. True achievement is continuous progress and the ability to win the hearts of the audience again. This season, India will see what these singers are capable of today and who they can become in the future.'

Khemish Reshammi has worked throughout his career as a composer, singer, producer, and actor. Despite a long career and thousands of hits, his passion for music remains the same. It is worth noting that singers such as Abidjit Sawant, Amit Sana, Salman Ali, and Saily Kamble participated in the show. A special theme of this season is that one victory is not enough—one must win again and again.

Review of the film 'Naiyi Naveli': Yami Gautam played a witch, the plot contains references to the Ramayana

Today promises to be a special day for film lovers as a series of movies have been released simultaneously. The award-winning national actress Yami Gautam presented her new film 'Naiyi Naveli'. The film's trailer was impressive and amusing, and the story seemed quite original—a narrative about a woman who is a witch.

The creators of the film are Anand El Rai and Himanshu Sharma, who previously directed hits such as 'Ranjana' and 'Tanu Weds Manu'. They are known for bringing something new and unique to every project they undertake. Therefore, expectations for Yami's film were high, and the cast features strong performers.

The action takes place in the city of Merat, where Raja (Adinant Kotare), the eldest son of the Avasti family, marries a girl (Yami Gautam). However, Raja's younger brother, Bantu (Anarag Thakur), dislikes his sister-in-law because he suspects she is a witch. Mohini behaves very strangely: she does not attend the temple but performs worship at the cemetery. People she touches become healthier. Despite looking like a sweet and pious girl, she is in danger if someone with ill intentions looks at her.

The entire Avasti family begins an investigation to uncover the truth about Mohini. One day, they discover that the daughter-in-law they considered meek and devout is actually a powerful goddess who has come to earth to eliminate evil. Her story dates back to the Treta Yuga, the time when Lord Rama and Ravana lived. Viewers will only understand which specific story related to the Ramayana led Mohini into the Avasti family by watching the film.

When presenting 'Naiyi Naveli', an important warning was initially given. Yami Gautam clearly stated that this story is purely fictional, and some parts do not relate to the actual history. Since the film contains many references and mentions related to the Ramayana, this warning was issued so that viewers would not confuse real history with the fictional plot. Yami Gautam's film starts with a hint of the Ramayana, and by the end of the viewing, it becomes clear why it is being released for the festival of Dussehra.

According to the creators, 'Naiyi Naveli' is a fantastic family entertainment film, and it indeed has a lot of humor. It makes you laugh from the very beginning. All members of the Avasti family are given sufficient screen time, and they are given time for viewers to understand their characters and empathize with them, which contributes to the good humor. The first half of the film is saturated with comedy and suspense, during which the entire story of Mohini is revealed.

However, after Mohini's identity is revealed, the film begins to weaken. By the intermission, the plot starts to fall apart. The second half does not make as much impression. The story shifts towards family drama and showcasing the villain's power, into which zombies also intervene. There are moments when the viewer wonders why this is happening. Although including references to the Ramayana is a good idea, over time it starts to seem inappropriate. Writer Himanshu Sharma perhaps should have presented this more successfully. The film's ending is weak; the attempt to teach a lesson for the Dussehra festival was not convincing enough. The dialogues are also not strong enough to warrant repetition. As for the songs, they also do not deserve a second listen.

In terms of acting, Yami Gautam and Adinant Kotare carry the film. This is Yami's first appearance in the role of a 'Superwoman', and it was pleasant to see that the main role belongs to a female character. Adinant Kotare also demonstrated surprisingly excellent acting, as suggested in the trailer.

Next are the supporting actors, who added spice to this film. Sunita Rajwar, Anarag Thakur, Aditya Kulshrestha (Kullu), Mita Vaishisht, Pratik Pachori, Sushmita Mukerji, Sonal Joe, Sunil Sinha—all of them performed well. Anarag Thakur, who played Bantu in the film, deserves special mention. Every scene had great comedic delivery and emotion. The actor demonstrated a good range in his performance.

The famous stand-up comedian and writer Kullu also plays a funny role that genuinely makes people laugh. At the same time, the viewer feels some regret for him. There is a unique aspect in the plot involving the interaction between Kullu and Mita Vaishisht, which perhaps no one expected to see. You will understand this by watching the film.

Overall, Yami Gautam's film 'Naiyi Naveli' is an average entertainment product whose plot does not amaze the imagination, but the comedy might appeal to you. You can show this film to your children for the festival of Dussehra.
