Uzbekistan and Russia signed a roadmap defining priority areas for joint work in the field of healthcare. These areas include medical education, high-tech medical care, pharmaceuticals, and early diagnosis of serious diseases.
The document signing took place after a meeting between the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Eldor Adilov, and the Minister of Health of Russia, Mikhail Murashko, during the World Summit 'Investment in Children's Well-being,' according to the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
The parties noted that the political will of the leaders of both countries and dialogue based on mutual trust create a solid foundation for elevating bilateral healthcare cooperation to a new level.
A number of joint projects are currently being implemented, covering the training of medical personnel, the introduction of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, and expanding public access to high-tech medical care.
Cooperation in the field of medical education is also expanding. A branch of the Pirogov National Research Medical University from Russia will be opened in Tashkent.
This project involves creating educational and clinical facilities, forming teaching staff, and equipping modern equipment in a simulation and accreditation center.
The ministers agreed on the need to increase interaction in the field of high-tech medical care and discussed prospects for joint pharmaceutical initiatives.
Furthermore, they identified urgent tasks for joint work concerning the early detection of oncological and cardiovascular diseases, as well as the development of nuclear medicine in Uzbekistan.
