Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the acquisition of two large construction orders. These contracts were awarded by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) in New Delhi and the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Amaravati. The company published this information in its regulatory filings on Wednesday.

The contracts were awarded to the company's Public Spaces, Airports & Health (PAH) business vertical. They are classified as 'large' and valued between 2500 and 5000 crore rupees, although the company did not disclose the exact value of both agreements.

Details of the first order

The first order, received from CPWD, involves the construction of Central Secretariat Buildings No. 4 and No. 5 in New Delhi. These two buildings will collectively have a built-up area of 32.8 lakh square feet and will include a basement, ground floor, and seven upper floors.

Under this project, L&T will undertake structural and architectural work, as well as Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services and external landscaping. Completion of this project is scheduled for 24 months, followed by a five-year period of operation and maintenance.

Information on the second project

The second contract was obtained from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and covers the construction of two office towers on either side of the Amaravati Central Quantum Computing facility. The proposed towers will feature a configuration including a basement, ground floor, and 47 upper floors, with a total built-up area of 37.5 lakh square feet.

Under a design-build contract, L&T will be responsible for creating the building's frame and core. The completion deadline for the second project is set at 30 months.

In a statement, the company noted that these recent orders further strengthen the confidence of government agencies in L&T's ability to execute complex projects and deliver them at the highest standard.
