The Tata Nexon is one of the most successful products in the Tata Motors portfolio, offered with various powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric. The company is actively working on creating the next generation of this model, which could potentially hit the market next year.
Recently, internal combustion engines of this car have been spotted. However, recent photos taken by paparazzi show the electric version of the vehicle, indicating the company's intention to launch this model with multiple types of powertrains simultaneously. There is a possibility that Tata will release a new Nexon in both ICE and EV versions, similar to how it was presented with the new Tiago.
A new version of the Tata Nexon was recently noticed. Unlike previous test samples, the new pictures show orange wiring and a subframe with a large battery, clearly indicating high-voltage electrical equipment. Thus, the spotted car is likely the Nexon EV.
The Nexon EV was first introduced by the company in 2020, and currently, the company has sold over 100 thousand units of this electric vehicle. Nevertheless, the dominance of this model in the electric vehicle market has decreased compared to the past. After the release of the next generation model, the company may regain its former position.
The new Nexon EV may receive a sporty exterior look, a raised beltline, a sloping roof, and a raked rear window. The car will have a high ground clearance. If the current Nexon EV is equipped with 16-inch wheels, the new generation might feature 18-inch alloy rims.
According to reports, the new Nexon may be based on the updated X1 platform. Some sources also suggest that the car might be based on a shorter version of the ARGOS platform, which is also used for the Sierra. Currently, little is known about the features of the next-generation Tata Nexon.
