Uzbekistan appoints three deputies to the Ministry of Education

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the appointment of three high-ranking officials to the newly established Ministry of Education and Science of Uzbekistan was announced. Oibek Yuldashov has been appointed as the first deputy minister, while Meriniso Pardayeva and Sanjar Mirzaliev have received positions as deputy ministers.

The Ministry of Education and Science reported that these appointments were made based on presidential decrees. Before his appointment, Yuldashov worked as the director of practice consulting in the public sector, infrastructure, and ESG at PwC Uzbekistan.

Previously, Pardayeva headed a department at the Republican Scientific and Methodological Center for Education Development. As for Mirzaliev, he previously held the position of executive director of the joint Belarusian-Uzbek interdepartmental institute of practical technical qualification.

The new Ministry of Education and Science was formed as part of educational system reforms. According to Presidential Decree No. UP-213 dated October 3, 2026, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation were merged into a single body.

As previously explained by presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov, these changes are aimed at revising approaches to education management and clarifying the distribution of responsibilities for organizing and ensuring the quality of the educational process. The Ministry of Education and Science will oversee preschool institutions, schools, vocational education institutions, and universities, being responsible for the daily activities of these institutions, setting requirements for educational activities, as well as conducting accreditation and licensing.
