Uzbekistan and the US Agree on 54 Agreements and Initiatives Worth $12 Billion

Fifty-four agreements and initiatives totaling $12 billion were formalized in Samarkand, along with a proposed cooperation plan until 2035.

As learned on October 20, during the meeting between Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Samarkand, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the US has increased by 35 percent since the beginning of the year.

At the second meeting of the America-Uzbekistan Council for Business and Investment Affairs, a package of 54 agreements and promising initiatives worth almost $12 billion was formed. A comprehensive action plan will be developed to implement these projects.

US investors are offered ready-made projects in land, infrastructure, and permitting documentation based on the 'Plug and Play' principle. Uzbek entrepreneurs and the new direct investment fund can participate in them.

Mirziyoyev proposed developing a trade, investment, and technological cooperation program until 2035. Priority areas named included deep processing of valuable minerals, energy, data centers, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.

Currently, both countries are jointly implementing projects in sectors such as aviation, automotive industry, agriculture, energy, digitalization, and finance.

Following the first meeting of the expanded strategic partnership, agreements on peaceful space exploration under the 'Artemis' program were also signed. The parties discussed plans for future high-level events, expansion of interregional ties, and mutual visits by business delegations.
