The team of the sixteenth expedition in the Arctic Ocean of China reported on Monday that the icebreaker 'Jidi' successfully completed preliminary acceptance testing of domestic satellite internet along shipping routes in the Arctic.
During this voyage, network connectivity was tested for the first time between the Arctic, Antarctica, and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, also known as the 'Third Pole' of the Earth. Thus, according to the expedition team, the last gap in global communication coverage has been eliminated.
This expedition was organized by China's Ministry of Natural Resources.
