Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sara Ali Khan's film 'Udta Tir' banned in Nepal due to alleged connection with Pakistan

The film 'Udta Tir,' starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sara Ali Khan, has been banned from screening in Nepal. The Ministry of Information and Communications sent a letter to the distributor National Cine Group, notifying them that the film did not receive permission for release in the country.

This film, directed by Akash Kaushik, was scheduled to be released in cinemas this Friday. However, the ministry's division for audiovisual and television content stated that the film's content falls under restrictions set by Section 8(3) of the Production, Exhibition, and Distribution Act of 2026, which precludes its public showing.

It is reported that the film depicts a complex story of tension between India and Pakistan. This is the reason the Central Film Review Committee imposed a ban on its public screening. There is a provision in Nepal that restricts the screening of films that may directly affect the nationality of any country or its community.

'Udta Tir' is a spy film created under the aegis of Karna Johar's production house, and it stars celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan, Gulshan Grover, and Ram Kapoor. The plot revolves around a Pakistani agent who infiltrates India but loses his memory due to an accident. He begins to develop an attachment to India rather than Pakistan and becomes a patriotic Indian agent who catches terrorists and Pakistani intelligence agents.
