iQOO has announced the launch of the iQOO 12 Neo smartphone, which will be presented on October 28. The main features of this device include a 9000 mAh battery, a 2K screen with a 185 Hz refresh rate, and a built-in cooling fan. This smartphone is aimed at gamers and will first be available for sale in China.
The iQOO Neo 12 will feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, as well as the company's proprietary Q3 gaming chip. Thus, the device's focus is not only on high processor performance but also on enhancing the gaming experience through a high-quality screen, controls, and efficient heat dissipation.
A key feature of the iQOO Neo 12 is its 9000 mAh battery, which significantly exceeds the standard capacity of most smartphones, which typically have around 5000 mAh. The large battery capacity will provide users with extended usage time, whether playing games, watching videos, or using the phone continuously.
Furthermore, the phone supports 100W fast wired charging. Despite the large capacity, the company has paid attention to charging speed. However, the exact time for a full charge and the duration of use on a single charge will depend on actual usage, including screen brightness, gaming activity, and network conditions.
To prevent performance degradation during intensive gaming sessions due to overheating, the iQOO Neo 12 integrates an active cooling fan. The phone is also equipped with the Ice-Dome cooling system, which helps dissipate heat. This feature is particularly useful for users who engage in heavy gaming for long periods, as the system is designed to maintain stable temperatures and preserve performance during gaming. The actual effect of the cooling system will only be clear after testing and use.
In combination with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the device utilizes an additional Q3 gaming chip. According to the company, this system contributes to improving graphics quality and frame rates during games. The iQOO Neo 12 screen has a 2K resolution and supports a 185 Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate can ensure smoother display of motion and scrolling in dynamic games. The company used the pTSF display technology from Visionox, and the peak screen brightness reaches 2200 nits. Support for a high touch frequency is also provided, which should aid in quick command recognition when interacting with the screen in games.
Nevertheless, the full potential of the 185 Hz refresh rate will only be realized in applications or games that support the corresponding frame rate. Therefore, one cannot conclude high performance across all games based solely on this figure.
The design of the iQOO Neo 12 features a flat screen, thin bezels, and a square camera module on the back panel. The body is made of metal. The company has presented several color options: Fierce Edge, Shadow Black, and Frost Blade Blue. Although the iQOO Neo 12 will launch in China on October 28, official information regarding its release date and price in the Indian market has not yet been announced.
