Actress Anita Kanwal openly spoke about struggling with unemployment and resulting financial problems. She stated that her savings might run out within a year, and returning to work is crucial for maintaining her mental health.
Despite contacts with many people in the industry, she has not yet received lucrative offers. Discussing her personal life on Vicky Lalwani's podcast, the veteran actress shared that she has been idle for a long time and needs to earn money.
Kanwal emphasized: 'I need to earn. If I want to live for the next 10-12 years, what should I do? My house is my only asset, and my savings will run out in a year, so I need a job.' She added that although her children want to help her, she does not want to take money from them, wishing to remain in a position where she can help them.
The actress noted that younger generations are unaware of her past achievements. She mentioned that she is sometimes offered roles as young girls, such as a 21-year-old. Kanwal clarified that she is not asking for charity, but if people do not know who Anita Kanwal is or what she has done, she cannot succeed. She attends auditions and meets with casting directors, but this is not leading to results.
During the interview, Anita Kanwal also touched upon working with Shah Rukh Khan, noting that the collaboration was 'sometimes yes, sometimes no.' In one film, she played Dipak Tijori's mother, but observed that many of her scenes were cut from the movie.
Furthermore, she mentioned that after the success of the film 'Gangajal,' her fee doubled. Currently, she is actively looking for suitable work and is worried about the future. It is known that Anita Kanwal is famous for her roles in the shows 'Banegi Thaai Baat,' 'Shanti,' and 'Sasural Genda Phool.'
