Previously, if users wanted to top up their SIM card balance for calls only, they had to purchase data-enabled tariffs, which meant paying for the internet even if it wasn't used. However, this situation has now changed. In accordance with the rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), telecom companies are obligated to offer plans designed exclusively for voice communication and also provide a 30-day validity option.
In light of these changes, Airtel has launched three new Voice-Only plans. The cost of these tariffs starts from 185 rupees. For those who only need calling services, the following options are available.
Airtel Plan at 185 Rupees
The Airtel plan at 185 rupees is suitable for users who prefer an inexpensive calling-only package. It includes unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls, as well as 300 SMS for sending messages. This plan is valid for 28 days and also includes the free Hello Tune feature.
Option with 30-Day Validity for 203 Rupees
If the top-up needs to be valid for a full 30 days, one can consider the Airtel plan for 203 rupees. This tariff also offers unlimited voice calls and 300 SMS. Its key advantage is that for just 18 rupees more than the 185 rupee plan, the user receives an extended 30-day validity. Thus, this option may be suitable if the internet is not required.
Features of the Airtel Plan for 206 Rupees
The Airtel plan for 206 rupees is also aimed at customers who do not need mobile data. It includes unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls along with 300 SMS. This tariff is valid for a full month. Therefore, users whose phones are primarily used for calls may consider such offers.
These plans are especially beneficial for people who do not use the internet on their phones, or for those who only need calls on their parents' SIM cards. In such cases, there is no need to spend large amounts on data tariffs. Nevertheless, before topping up, it is recommended to check the validity period and available services of the plan.
