Diyora Keldiyorova, Uzbekistan's Olympic champion, won and secured the gold medal at the international tournament Aktau Asian Open 2026, which was held in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
On October 17, the judoka, competing in the women's category up to 52 kg, defeated Farida Mirzaeva from Azerbaijan in the final match.
On her way to gold, Keldiyorova passed through the quarterfinals against Nurailim Sarsenbek from Kazakhstan and the semifinals against Gulkhan Shyngyskhan, also representing Kazakhstan. Victories in these matches secured her place in the final against Mirzaeva.
The tournament in Aktau marked a significant stage in Keldiyorova's return to international competitions after a break in her professional career. After her triumph at the Paris 2024 Olympics, she temporarily suspended participation in competitions.
During this break, Keldiyorova became a mother, recovered, and resumed training. She is currently competing again for the national team of Uzbekistan, and her victory at the Aktau Asian Open 2026 brought her gold after returning to the mat.
