Unique initiative held in Fatehpur: Schoolgirls served as District Collector and School Principal for a day

In the Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh state, an inspiring and unusual initiative was implemented under the 'Mission Shakti Phase-6' program, which focuses on empowering women and girls. The goal of the special event held at Asti Primary School was to boost self-confidence among students and encourage their future leadership.

During this event, two talented students from the fourth and fifth grades were symbolically entrusted with the duties of District Magistrate (DM) and School Principal for one day.

The fourth-grade student, Rahemin, was appointed as the School Principal. While in the principal's chair, she visited classrooms, conducted lessons, and listened to the children's academic difficulties.

The fifth-grade student, Sonakshi, was given administrative responsibility. This allowed both girls to get a close look at how administrative and educational processes function.

The way these young girls performed their duties demonstrated the message that if girls are provided with appropriate opportunities and support, they are capable of successfully playing a leadership role in any field.

During this awareness campaign, not only administrative tasks were taught, but special attention was also paid to issues of child protection and women's rights. The students exchanged information about helpline numbers released by the government to ensure the safety of women and girls. Thus, the children were taught how they could immediately seek help and remain safe in case of an emergency or problems.

The second phase of the event included a colorful Dandiya dance performance on the school grounds, in which the children participated with great enthusiasm. This combination of learning, safety awareness, and cultural activities provided the children with a wonderful opportunity not only to learn but also to showcase their talent and artistry.
