Pre-orders for Tesla Roadster have begun in India; variants and payment terms are known

In the last two days, Tesla has been in the spotlight due to its new modeling—the Tesla Roadster. This model attracts attention with its ability to fly, although it does not fly completely, but rather possesses the capability to perform aerial stunts and jumps.

The acceptance of pre-orders for the Tesla Roadster has started in India. The company presented this car in three different modifications. The flying capability is available in the top-tier configuration—the Roadster Rocket.

The Tesla Roadster is available in three variants: Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. The Performance variant can be reserved through the company's official website by starting with an initial deposit of 5.01 lakh rupees. Subsequently, within the next 10 days, an additional 45.05 lakh rupees must be paid, totaling approximately 50.06 lakh rupees for reserving this model.

As for the Thrust variant, which is equipped with a multi-mode suction system and booster nozzles, and accommodates two passengers, it can also be booked by making an initial payment of 5.01 lakh rupees. Within the following 10 days, 2,45,24,000 rupees will need to be paid, resulting in a total of 2,50,25,000 rupees (2.5025 crore rupees). Furthermore, the number of booking slots is limited, as the company offers only one order per consumer.

The Tesla Roadster Rocket variant garners the most interest. However, in India, this variant is only available to those who receive a special invitation. The company has not yet provided any information regarding these invitations. It should also be noted that Tesla has not announced the final price for the Roadster; the amounts mentioned are only reservation fees.

The company notified on its website that if a consumer fails to make the full payment within 10 days, their reservation will be canceled, and no refund will be provided.

Tesla unveils updated Roadster with fighter jet-like design and capabilities

Tesla has unveiled an updated design for the Roadster nine years after the concept car was first shown in 2017. The new version offers three different configurations: performance-oriented, thrust-based, and rocket-capable. The top-tier variant is capable of aerial maneuvers thanks to accelerators installed on the vehicle.

During a live web demonstration, the company showcased features such as inverted transmission, the ability to perform flips, and barrel rolls. Tesla claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 96.5 kilometers per hour in just 0.81 seconds. The rocket version includes a single-seater cockpit.

The base model, named Performance, is designed for two passengers and features a multi-mode intake system with active aerodynamics. This variant reaches 96.5 km/h in 1.6 seconds. In the thrust version, Tesla has fitted two rear gas thrusters integrated into the intake system.

The most premium option, Rocket, features a single seat and is equipped with perimeter gas thrusters. According to Tesla, these thrusters allow the car to move forwards and backwards, as well as perform rotational movements. The maximum speed of this vehicle is 370 kilometers per hour.

The stated range for the Tesla Roadster is 483 kilometers, but the company did not specify which configuration this figure applies to. Compressed gas in carbon fiber wrapped in a pressurized vessel is used for aerial acrobatics. Tesla reported that increasing the amount of gas extends flight time but did not provide clear data on air duration.

The design of the Tesla Roadster is inspired by the SR-71 and F-35 aircraft. The new model features a angular body, hidden headlights, a full-width taillight, and smooth surfaces. The driver's seat also resembles an aircraft cockpit.

Regarding the interior, Tesla has equipped it with an ultra-wide cabin. Manual controls and fixed seating positions were used to reduce weight. Furthermore, magnesium, titanium, and carbon fiber are used in the construction. The company plans to begin mass production of this vehicle by 2028.

Although pre-orders have begun, the company has not disclosed details regarding production specifications or delivery timelines. Tesla has also not provided information on many of the car's features, including battery capacity, weight, and engine power.
