Cost of Repairing the Apple iPhone Duo Display: Prices for Internal and External Displays

Pre-orders for the first foldable smartphone, the Apple iPhone Duo, have begun and quickly ended as the item went out of stock. Along with the start of pre-sales, the company revealed information regarding the repair costs for the iPhone Duo.

According to data published on the official Apple portal, the basic repair cost for the iPhone Duo is 5,900 rupees, which covers fixing issues with the front layer coating.

The iPhone Duo features two displays: an external and an internal one. If the internal display is damaged, its replacement will cost 149,000 rupees.

In case of damage to the external display of the iPhone Duo, its cost is 42,900 rupees. Additionally, if the glass located on the back panel breaks, its replacement will cost 20,900 rupees.

The iPhone Duo is a foldable smartphone equipped with two displays—an external and an internal one. The external display measures 5.4 inches, while the internal display measures 7.6 inches. The company used LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED technology with a 120Hz refresh rate for both displays.

The smartphone operates on the Apple A20 Pro (2nm) chipset with the Apple GPU and runs on iOS 27. The manufacturer claims that this processor is capable of ensuring high operating speed and easily handling daily tasks, as well as guaranteeing a full day of battery life on a single charge.

The iPhone Duo is equipped with a dual rear camera system, each with a 48MP resolution. A 12MP module is provided for the front camera.

Apple launches pre-sale of iPhone Duo in Brazil with prices starting from R$ 21,999

Apple began the pre-sale of the iPhone Duo in Brazil this Friday, October 16th. This is the company's first foldable smartphone, and its initial price starts at R$ 21,999 for the 256 GB storage configuration, potentially reaching R$ 30,999 on the most sophisticated model.

The device is available in Star White and Night Sky (dark blue) shades. According to Apple, the first units will be delivered and available in physical stores starting October 23rd.

However, demand for Apple's foldable has been very high. Just a few hours after the pre-sale launch on the Apple website, the company had to adjust the delivery forecast to January 2027. When selecting a specific delivery address, the deadline was extended even further, reaching February 1st.

Apple has not provided official clarification regarding the extension of deadlines, but the situation appears to be of an international nature, as reported by the website 9to5Mac. A possible contributing factor to these delays would be an alleged stock shortage, given that rumors since September pointed to slow production due to difficulties in component supply chains.

Presented alongside the iPhone 18 Pro line, the iPhone Duo adopts a less elongated format, similar to a passport. Its exterior features a 5.4-inch screen, and when opened, it reveals a 7.6-inch flexible OLED panel. This panel has a nanotexture finish designed to reduce reflections and decrease the visibility of the central crease.

One of the highest costs of the device is the repair of this panel, as replacing the flexible screen can cost up to R$ 10,990, according to an official estimate from Apple in Brazil itself.

In terms of construction, the structure uses titanium, while the front and back are protected by Ceramic Shield. The model also incorporates a hinge developed to manage various opening angles, allowing it to be kept semi-open for use as an alarm clock on a desk, for example.

The iPhone Duo is equipped with the A20 Pro processor, identical to the one used in the iPhone 18 Pro models, and features 12 GB of RAM in all storage configurations. The battery, composed of two cells, guarantees between 31 and 44 hours of video playback, according to Apple. The company also states that 15 minutes of charging are sufficient to provide up to five hours of playback.

On the back, the foldable features a 48 MP main sensor and a 12 MP telephoto lens, offering 2x optical zoom. Additionally, there is a 12 MP camera on the external screen for selfies, and another located on the internal screen, hidden under the display, dedicated to video calls. Other functionalities include the ability to operate multiple windows simultaneously, reminiscent of iPad multitasking.
