The author began his short trip by arriving in Dubai on Tuesday evening. Despite it being winter in this season, the air temperature was a hot 40 degrees, creating a feeling of constant brilliance.
He went to Bluewaters Island, walking along the promenade where people were swimming in the sea, relaxing on sun loungers, and cruising on yachts. The author noted that it had become quieter there recently, and local residents attributed this to events happening in the region reported in the news.
Next, the author's attention was drawn to Global Village. He compared this place to a combination of Montecasino and Gold Reef City, but on a grander and more luxurious scale. Global Village is a huge multicultural entertainment center offering food, drinks, and treats from all over the world, as well as clothing, jewelry, and more.
The park features 29 pavilions representing over 90 cultures. Although there weren't hundreds of different countries, the atmosphere created that impression. The detailing of the buildings and decor was striking, and every turn felt like a journey to a completely different place—from Turkey to India or Egypt.
In downtown Dubai, the author observed people from all over the world enjoying food together, riding attractions, watching live performances, and light shows. The most valuable moment for him was observing how different cultures safely exchange traditions, accompanied by music and laughter.
Among the culinary discoveries, the author tried M’OISHÎ ice cream, inspired by Japanese flavors and created in Dubai by Karol Movaad. He also tasted mango rice with toppings and dahi puri—an Indian street snack consisting of crispy shells filled with chickpeas, yogurt, chutney, and sometimes pomegranate.
Exploring the space, the author felt as if he were in dozens of countries, including Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and India. He reflected on how wonderful it would be if life were like Global Village, where everyone could gather, explore culture, try new food, and appreciate differences.
The author acknowledges the complexity of the world but emphasizes that even a few hours in such a place allow one to experience an idealized lifestyle. A visit to the Burj Khalifa and the massive Dubai Mall is planned for the next day. At the end of the trip, he intends to talk about the sharp temperature difference from 40 degrees in the desert to 7 degrees in Great Britain.
