New Footage from the Film 'Ramayana' Revealed: Sita's Battle Scenes and Shiva's Dance of Ravana

The film 'Ramayana' has become one of the most anticipated projects of the year and will be shown worldwide. Producer Namit Malhotra has partnered with Sony Pictures to ensure a massive global release. As part of the film's promotion, a new trailer featuring numerous fresh visuals was released on October 15th.

The film is currently undergoing an active marketing campaign, and a supplementary video has recently appeared. On Wednesday, the 17th, around three in the morning, the official 'Ramayana' account on X published a video featuring Namit Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, and director Nitish Tiwari. They discussed the global vision and scale of their project.

This new clip includes scenes different from those presented in the main trailer. For instance, moments of Mother Sita's battle were shown for the first time. Although Lord Rama fought against 14 thousand demons, Sita was also involved in this scene, which was demonstrated. Furthermore, viewers can see her teaching young girls martial arts in Mithila.

The new video also features scenes involving Lord Rama. In an early teaser released several months ago, a demon was shown that drew criticism from the public because his appearance did not conform to Indian canons. In this video, that scene has been completely changed. Scenes of Ravana's battle in the city of Kubera and his subsequent Tandava dance by Shiva are also included.

In the video, Ranbir stated that they are making every effort to tell the story of 'Ramayana' as accurately and qualitatively as possible. Subsequently, Namit Malhotra shared his thoughts on the plot, emphasizing that it contains everything that makes it grand and majestic, and that this story has something for every person. Director Nitish Tiwari agreed with him, noting that anyone can find a connection with the story of 'Ramayana' because it tells of father-son love, a beautiful romantic tale, and the triumph of the underdog.

Speaking about creating such a large-scale project, Namit Malhotra mentioned that when he had this opportunity, he felt the need to realize it. In his opinion, some films just happen rather than being created. Ranbir highly praised Namit for bringing a level of technology, scale, and talent attraction to the Bollywood industry that is rarely seen here. The producer reported that about 10,000 people from around the world are working on the film 'Ramayana'. Director Nitish expressed full confidence in Namit's company, DNEG, regarding the creation of a film of such colossal scale.

Finally, Namit shared that he founded his company 30 years ago in a garage, and today they await the moment when they can create a project of the 'Ramayana' level after the company won eight Oscars. He mentioned all the major talents who will help make this dream come true. The film 'Ramayana' is set for a global release on November 5th.

International promotional campaign for the film 'Ramayana' sparks discussion about Rama's human nature statement

The international campaign for the film 'Ramayana,' featuring Ranbir Kapoor, launched on October 15. As part of this campaign, a new clip montage was presented, containing a dialogue that strongly impressed viewers. In this segment, it is asserted that Rama was not a god, but a human being.

In the clip released on Wednesday, Kunal Kapoor is depicted as the Hindu god Indura, seated on the mount Airavata. He confronts Ravana, known as Yash, who strikes the divine elephant with a punch. Ravana utters the phrase: 'Every head will bow before me.'

The voiceover states that in the era when humans coexisted with deities, and evil, represented by Ravana, rose from the darkness, humanity had only one hope—a man named Rama, not a god. Following this, Ranbir speaks in Rama's voice: 'If I do not stop him, the world will be destroyed.' It is emphasized that this is only the beginning of events.

The exact time for the release of the second trailer has not yet been determined. However, the filmmakers plan to hold a large-scale trailer launch in Bangalore, Yash's hometown, while the first trailer was presented in New Delhi. It is expected that the event in Bangalore will feature not only Yash but also actors and creators, including Ranbir, Nitesh Tiwari, Sai Pallavi, and producer Namit Malhotra.

Namit Malhotra shared his thoughts on the project on his X account on Wednesday: 'When we started shooting 'Ramayana,' our dream has always been to bring one of India's greatest stories to the whole world. Tomorrow, this dream takes another big step forward.' He added that Sony Pictures is launching an international campaign for 'Ramayana,' introducing the entire world to this eternal story that many will see for the first time.

Malhotra noted that the presentation of the Indian film as a global cinematic event brings pride to everyone. He concluded: 'Our truth, our story—from India to the world. Jai Shri Ram. Now we just have to wait for the film's premiere.'

Arun Govil's poster as Dasharatha drew criticism from users due to AI imitation and fake beard

Ahead of Diwali, a major epic film about the Ramayana is expected, being created by Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. This project, valued at 4000 crore, is being discussed following its announcement, and it is directed by Nitish Tiwari. The released trailers, teasers, and posters have elicited a mixed reaction from the public.

The patrons presented a new look for Arun Govil, who will play King Dasharatha in this film. Previously, Arun Govil was known for his role as Maricha Purushottam Rama in Ramayana Ramananda Sagar. Now, he returns to the Ramayana to portray a different character, while in Nitish Tiwari's film, Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama's son. In the new posters, Arun Govil is depicted sitting on a throne in Ayodhya, looking imposing.

The caption accompanying the image states that Arun Govil embodied Rama for an entire generation, and now he returns to the Ramayana as King Dasharatha of Ayodhya.

Users began closely examining the throne on which Arun Govil sits in the poster. The throne features a fish pattern, which is a symbol of Awadh (Ayodhya) and the state of Uttar Pradesh. Horse symbols are also visible on the throne. However, some people suggested that the portrayal of Dasharatha was created using artificial intelligence. One commentator questioned why a fake beard was used for such an important role. Another noted that the creators might have been hiding character flaws until now to conceal these shortcomings. A third user called the poster useless, advising against making posters for boomers and instead showing something more realistic.

Producer Namit Malhotra calls Ramayan the biggest film of 2026 yet to come, which will be divided into two parts. The first part will be released during this year's Diwali, and the second in 2027. The film will also feature Ranbir Kapoor (Rama), Sai Pallavi (Sita), Yash (Ravana), Sani Deol (Hanuman), and Ravi Dubey (Lakshmana). After the teaser's release, the film faced significant public criticism, prompting the creators to make changes to the graphics based on public opinion. It remains to be seen how impressive the film will be to viewers upon its release.
