TIM has implemented significant changes to its video platform, TIM Play, introducing service combinations that aggregate platforms such as Netflix, Globoplay, Disney+, and HBO Max into a single subscription. Concurrently, the operator discontinued its most affordable streaming plan, which was previously sold for R$ 9.90 monthly, as verified by Tecnoblog on the official portal.
Currently, the minimum cost for TIM Play is R$ 29.90, establishing a higher entry point for new users. The package that includes Movies plus open and closed TV remains available for R$ 89.90 monthly.
The new package sets feature price ranges starting at R$ 35.90 and reaching R$ 125.90 in the most comprehensive option, which includes nine platforms. This configuration represents the second phase of the service, which was introduced in July with a catalog of movies and live channels. Previously, major streaming services had to be contracted separately.
Thompson Gomes, TIM's head of marketing, stated in an exclusive interview that discussions were underway and that the platform would receive more packages throughout the semester, which materialized with the current updates. According to the operator itself, the savings provided by the combos can reach 50% when compared to the full prices of the streaming services.
All offered packages also include the movie archive and open television channels. Subscription is restricted to eligible customers of TIM Black, TIM Black Family, TIM Controle, and TIM Ultracombo plans; prepaid consumers are not included. Acquisition can be made through the Meu TIM application, the TIM Play website, or the company's stores.
Raphael Paiva, Director of B2C Partnerships and New Business at TIM Brazil, commented in a press note about the change, stating that entertainment has become increasingly dispersed, leading people to use various platforms to watch content, which implies managing multiple monthly charges.
The adopted strategy aims to strengthen customer loyalty. Thompson Gomes mentioned in July that customers who use multiple operator products show greater loyalty, and that TIM managed to decrease the churn rate from 30% to 40% with this type of offer.
In the market, TIM competes with Vivo and Claro, which have similar platforms. In July, Vivo TV cost starting from R$ 45 monthly, while Claro TV+ offered Globoplay, Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ for R$ 99.90 monthly in the same subscription.
TIM Play is managed by Mileto, a company that took over responsibility for Oi TV starting in March 2025, being responsible for integration with streaming services.
