Fergana Region of Uzbekistan Plans to Use Turkish Company's Experience for Urban Greening

The Fergana Region in Uzbekistan intends to attract the knowledge of the Turkish company Bayındır Kurumsal Hizmetler to expand urban greening and implement the environmental initiative 'Yashil Makon'.

Discussion of Cooperation Prospects

Opportunities for interaction were discussed at a meeting between the Governor of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, and a delegation led by the company's CEO, Ismail Hakki Bayındır. During the negotiations, prospects for growing flowers and fruit trees suitable for local climatic conditions, as well as the application of Turkish landscape design methods and improvement of urban infrastructure, were reviewed.

Special attention was paid to modern technologies for cultivating apricot, peach, and sweet cherry saplings, as well as the development of intensive orchards. Participants emphasized that these areas can contribute to increasing green zones throughout the region and fulfilling the 'Yashil Makon' initiative.

Bozorov noted that several investment projects are already being implemented in the region in partnership with Turkish parties, and expressed a desire to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. The regional administration reported that preliminary work on the projects discussed at the meeting has already begun in Fergana.

It is expected that flowers and fruit trees will be delivered from Turkey, and demonstration planting sessions will be organized to show plant care methods. At the end of the negotiations, the parties agreed on further steps for developing cooperation and implementing promising projects.
