A new exhibition was solemnly opened at the Pavel Benkov Specialized Art School gallery in Tashkent as part of the XI International Biennale of Modern Art 'Event Horizon'. This was initiated by the Directorate of Exhibition Events of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The exhibition features over thirty outstanding creative works by renowned Turkmen artists—Azat Muradov, Guncha Muradova, and Toili Chopanov—executed in the realistic style.
The overall concept of the biennale, titled 'Event Horizon', reflects the transition from a clear past to an uncertain future, while emphasizing that the academic foundation is the basis for all modern and conceptual artistic layers.
Exhibitor Azat Muradov noted the importance of the academic school, stating that it has become an invaluable living textbook and a huge source of spiritual inspiration for young talents. He stressed that the works of experienced masters demonstrate how necessary knowledge of color theory, figurative representation, and academic fundamentals are for youth to realize any bold idea in a perfect form.
Muradov also added that academic mastery does not restrict the creator but, on the contrary, gives them true freedom. He believes that it is impossible to convincingly express bold ideas in the world of contemporary art without deeply mastering the laws of composition, perfect lines, and color theory.
Artist Toili Chopanov particularly highlighted the significance of creative communication and connection with youth. He expressed satisfaction in presenting his works in this respected center of academic education, which possesses long-standing traditions. The goal was to show the younger generation the value of continuous work in art through national identity and realistic traditions, reflecting the spirit of modernity.
This exhibition occupied a special place among the biennale's events, demonstrating adherence to national traditions, authorial style, and the academic school.
