Samsung's popular Galaxy A line has started receiving the latest operating system version. The Galaxy A57 model was the first device to receive this update, which was made available the previous night, on October 14th. This update package elevates the smartphone to One UI 9, which is based on Android 17.
The South Korean manufacturer had begun distributing this update at the end of September, starting with the S26 family. Currently, updated devices include the Galaxy S26 FE, the new Fold 8 line, and the recently launched Galaxy Tab S12, the latter of which come with One UI 9 pre-installed.
Considering recent history, the next device expected to be updated is the Galaxy A37, which was released in April. The arrival of One UI 9 on other eligible models should occur in the coming weeks.
It is important to note that Android 17 will be the final version for models in the S23, A24, A34, A54, M34, M54, and Tab S9 lines. The Galaxy A57 arrived in Brazil in April of this year, with an initial price of R$ 3,599.
According to Samsung's official description, One UI 9 aims to integrate Galaxy AI into the user's daily life, offering more intuitive and useful artificial intelligence functionalities to simplify tasks, facilitate content creation, and maintain the user's connection with their Galaxy.
This new iteration of One UI is based on Android 17, the latest version released by Google. Software innovations include Now Brief and New Nudge, which use information captured by the user's own phone to offer greater intelligence. Additionally, there is the My FanCam application, which allows video analysis and generating clips focused on specific individuals, a feature initially presented with the 2026 foldable phone lineup.
However, being a mid-range device, the A57 may not incorporate all the features introduced in One UI 9, unlike models belonging to the Z and S lines.
