ISQ and Chissano Foundation sign agreement for technical qualification in Mozambique

The Institute of Welding and Quality (ISQ) and the Joaquim Chissano Foundation have formalized a cooperation protocol aimed at promoting human resource qualification, facilitating the transfer of technical knowledge, and boosting sustainable development in Mozambique.

In an official statement, Pedro Matias, president of ISQ, detailed that this collaboration between the institution and the Mozambican foundation establishes a framework for cooperation focused on 'identifying and developing initiatives in the areas of professional training, energy, industry, infrastructure, quality, safety, environment, innovation, and technological transformation.' This partnership aims to contribute significantly to 'strengthening local competencies and valuing Mozambican human capital.'

This protocol stipulates that the entities will provide various resources, including 'online and in-person training programs, technical capacity-building actions, trainer training, skills certification initiatives, and technical consulting projects,' all designed and adjusted to the specific needs identified in the country.

Additionally, the training component will be complemented by organizing 'conferences, seminars, technical missions, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives,' alongside joint efforts to seek 'cooperation and funding opportunities with national and international entities.'

For the president of ISQ, this agreement represents 'the convergence of objectives between the two organizations in building solutions that contribute to sustainable development, infrastructure modernization, technical capacity building, and the creation of new opportunities for future generations.'

ISQ, which already has experience in engineering, inspection, testing, and training, has been active in Mozambique for several years in crucial sectors such as energy, education, and railways, as mentioned in the note.

For its part, the Joaquim Chissano Foundation, a Mozambican institution dedicated to promoting peace, sustainable development, education, and the appreciation of knowledge in Africa, will assume a 'relevant role in approaching Mozambican partners and entities, enhancing the implementation of projects with economic and social impact.'

With this signing, ISQ and the Joaquim Chissano Foundation reaffirm their strategic alliance focused on technical capacity building, knowledge dissemination, and the development of sustainable solutions appropriate to the Mozambican reality.
