Renault Kiger registered in Brazil; Stellantis announces return of Willys and news on other models

The Renault Kiger, an SUV derived from the Kwid, has been registered with INPI. Although the registration does not guarantee a launch in Brazil, it serves as legal protection against copies of design and engineering. The Kiger shares the CMF-A platform with the Kwid but features superior dimensions, including a 405-liter trunk, compared to the Kwid's 290 liters. Furthermore, the Kiger has a more refined interior finish and offers a 1.0 turbo engine producing 100 hp and 16.3 kgfm of torque in the higher versions, something absent in the Kwid.

Currently, the main markets for the Renault Kiger are India and South Africa. If introduced in Brazil, it could function as an intermediate model between the Kwid and Renault's Kardian SUV.

Stellantis plans to bring back the Jeep Willys. Although Jeep currently sells various vehicles, including SUVs and the Wrangler, the original Willys was a military vehicle adapted for civilian use, known for its capability in difficult terrain. However, the announced return refers to a new Willys that is under development but is not expected to launch before 2030.

Xavier Peugeot, head of Jeep in Europe, confirmed the news during the Paris Motor Show. This new model will be completely new, feature 4x4 traction, and will initially target the European market. There are speculations that it might be smaller than the Wrangler, which would make more sense for the European market, given that the Wrangler was discontinued in Europe at the end of 2025.

North American publications doubt sales in the US due to the presence of the Wrangler, but a launch in Brazil is not considered impossible, as the Brazilian market is more similar to the European one.

The Jaguar Type 01, an electric grand tourer symbolizing the brand's rebirth, has attracted significant global attention. The manufacturer reported that the model generated interest from over 50,000 people since its presentation on October 6th. It is important to note that these individuals only registered on the Jaguar website to receive information and do not represent purchase intentions or pre-orders.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar's CEO, informed the Australian website Drive that these registrations are classified as KMI (keep me informed). He highlighted that about 80% of these people were new to the brand, indicating that the Type 01 managed to capture the attention of an audience beyond Jaguar's traditional customers.

Jenson Button's Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG is available for sale, with an estimated price of R$ 3.5 million. This vehicle, based on the second generation of the CLK (C209), is equipped with a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine, producing 590 hp and 81.7 kgfm of torque, transmitted by a five-speed Speedshift automatic gearbox. It can reach 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, with a top speed limited to 320 km/h.

The CLK DTM AMG was produced in 2004 to celebrate the success of Bernd Schneider in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM). Only 100 units were manufactured, and Button's model is one of the 40 right-hand drive cars intended for the British market. The car is in excellent condition, with only 18,114 km driven, and includes several optional items. The auction house Iconic Auctioneers values the bidding price between £400,000 and £500,000.

BYD has started distributing the 2027 line of the Dolphin Mini to dealerships. External and internal changes are subtle, including a new rear spoiler with a more aggressive design, darkened wheels, and new color options. The main improvement is technical: in the top GS version, the Hankook 175/55-16 tires have been replaced by Pirelli 185/55-16, meeting a demand from owners.

In terms of performance, the Dolphin Mini maintains a 75 hp electric motor and 13.8 kgfm of front torque, reaching 100 km/h in 14.9 seconds. The difference lies in the battery pack: the GL version has 30 kWh and a range of 224 km (Inmetro), while the GS version uses a 39 kWh battery, ensuring 280 km of range, according to the regulatory body.

The GL model costs R$ 109,990 and comes equipped with several features, such as a 7-inch digital dashboard, a 10.1-inch multimedia center, six airbags, and a 360-degree external camera. The GS version, for R$ 119,990, adds wireless phone charging and electrical adjustments to the driver's seat. These changes give more power to the compact car, which is expected to receive its new generation in China, with arrival in Brazil only predicted in 2028.
