South Indian superstar Rajinikanth is preparing to conquer the big screen again with the film 'Jailer 2', which is generating huge excitement among viewers. The film has shown impressive results in pre-sales, earning over 570 million Indian rupees in India.
Interest in 'Jailer 2' is observed not only in India but also abroad, where active ticket sales are also noted. Forecasts suggest the film will generate good worldwide revenue on its premiere day. On the first day, October 15, 1.447 million tickets were sold in India, bringing in 30.90 crore rupees.
Although Rajinikanth's films are immensely popular across India, enthusiasm is particularly high in Tamil Nadu. Here, the film collected over 10 crore rupees in pre-sales. More than 3300 shows are planned in Tamil Nadu, of which over 500 have already taken place with full houses. In Chennai, the film received a positive response, collecting 4.80 crore rupees in pre-sales through more than a thousand shows. Currently, 'Jailer 2' ranks sixth in pre-sales in Tamil Nadu.
'Jailer 2' is gaining momentum not only in India but also internationally. The film's international pre-sales exceeded 25 crore rupees on the first day. There is significant enthusiasm among Rajinikanth's fans in America. Total ticket sales on the first day in India and abroad exceeded 55 crore rupees, giving hope for earnings of around 100 crore rupees globally on the release day. Pre-sales began last week.
It should be noted that the film 'Jailer', released in 2023, was a box office hit, earning 650 crore rupees. It featured S. J. Surya, Ramya Krishna, Vidhya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Hrithik Roshan, and Mohanlal. Nelson Dilip Kumar directed it, and Sun Pictures produced it under the guidance of Kalanidhi Maran. 'Jailer 2' will be released in international cinemas on October 15.
