Hyundai is preparing to introduce its new Bayon crossover. This vehicle was presented by the company, and information about its prices is expected on October 28. The Bayon is positioned as a direct competitor to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara and sits between the Creta and Venue models.
The car's design aligns with Hyundai's Art of Steel design language. The interior of the Bayon is largely similar to the i20 model, which will be launched in Brazil. Initially, the car will be available with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, but the company may offer a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) option later. Pre-orders have already begun.
The Bayon will be the first Hyundai model in India equipped with an artificial intelligence-based generative voice assistant function. In terms of appearance, this car resembles a smaller version of the recently released Hyundai Tucson. The company has not yet disclosed the exact dimensions of the vehicle.
Regarding cabin features, the Bayon's interior is analogous to that of the i20 released in Brazil. The car is equipped with a dual 12.3-inch display, and the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is provided separately. Numerous quick-access buttons are located below the touchscreen.
Furthermore, the steering wheel in the Bayon is similar to the one used in the Venue. The key update is the integration of the AI-based generative voice assistant, making it the first such Hyundai vehicle in India. The company claims that this AI is capable of understanding conversational language and providing appropriate responses.
The vehicle will also feature BlueLink Connected Tech, which offers over 70 functions. Additional capabilities include Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, an onboard navigator, split-screen functionality, and smartphone-like quick controls. The Bayon will support several languages, including 10 national and 2 international ones.
The Hyundai Bayon is fitted with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is also found in the Creta. Manual and CVT transmission options are available. Although Hyundai has not yet confirmed whether the car will be available in a CNG version, if it does, the Bayon will become the first Hyundai model over 4 meters long with a CNG option.
